The case presented here represents the experience of a single patient and may not be typical of all patients. Apligraf® should not be used on infected wounds or on patients with known hypersensitivities to any components of Apligraf. Please consult the complete prescribing information for a description of epidermal and dermal elements contained in Apligraf.
Appearance of the wound bed prior to Apligraf. Granulation tissue is evident. Wound measured 2.5 cm in length and 1.3 cm in width.
Wound has decreased in size to 0.63 cm in length by 0.32 cm in width. Second Apligraf applied to stimulate additional healing.
Apligraf appears to have “taken,” demonstrating revascularization and healing. The epithelium is fully differentiated into a stratum corneum just like the patient’s own skin.
The wound remains completely healed. Remodeling of the wound has taken place, with evidence of repigmentation.
