Apligraf Case Study – Edge Effect / New Tissue Formation

Patient: 74-year-old female

Wound: Venous leg ulcer of approximately 3 months duration

Prior Treatment: Hydrocolloid dressing plus elastic compression wrap and topical antibiotics

Apligraf Application: Apligraf was applied to the wound and dressed with non-adherent dressing in elastic wrap (Coban™).

Day 0

Wound debrided and ready for Apligraf. Wound measures 2.0 cm in width by 3.5 cm in length. Granulation tissue is evident.



Week 3

Wound area reduced in size. Additional granulation tissue evident at wound edge.



Week 5

Wound is completely healed.



Week 20

Wound continues to remodel, with possible signs of repigmentation. No recurrence observed.
