How Is It Made?
Over a 20 day period
- Keratinocyte medium is replaced by a maintenance medium
- Cells continue to mature
- Distinct epidermal and dermal layers are present
- Developing bilayer is air-lifted (exposed to air)
- Incubated (air-liquid interface) for 10 days1,2
- Enhances maturation of keratinocytes in epidermal layer
- Produces a stratum corneum (cornification)
